PS3xport: PS3/EXPORT backup manipulation utility PS3xport is a utility for manipulating PS3 backup archives. It can create a fully working backup from scratch, as well as extract files from existing backups or rename, delete, or add new files to an existing backup. PS3 backup files A PS3 backup is created from the System Settings - Backup Utility - Backup menu on the XMB (Xross Media Bar). It requires the use of a FAT32-formatted storage and it will create the backup as a subdirectory of the directory PS3/EXPORT/ named with the current date and time. For example: D:/PS3/EXPORT/59 The backup directory will contain the following files:.

archive.dat - This will be the ' Index file' for your backup. archive00.dat, archive01.dat, archive02.dat, etc.
These are the ' Data files' for your backup. archive2.dat - This will be the ' Index file' of your copy-protected files. archive200.dat, archive201.dat, archive202.dat, etc. These are the ' Data files' for your copy-protected data As you can see, there are two types of files, Index files and Data files.
The index files will contain the list of all the files and directories in the data files while the data files will only contain data. There are also two types of backups, regular files and copy-protected files. The copy-protected files are for your PSN games, copy-protected save files and the like. The copy-protected files are encrypted with your unique PS3 device ID so they cannot be decrypted on another PS3. The archive.dat files will not be encrypted with your PS3's Device ID so they can be restored on any PS3. However, the file does contain your OpenPSID which tells the PS3 from which console the backup was created.
Not having the right PSID set in a backup has little significance, other than the fact that when restoring it, the PS3 will show a warning about the backup being restored from a different PS3. Tool Usage PS3xport takes commands as arguments and multiple commands can be chained together in a single call.
When you create a backup using Windows Backup, you should use the Restore Files wizard to restore the files. If you can't use the Restore Files wizard (for example, when you're using a computer that’s not running Windows Vista or Windows 7), you can manually extract files from a backup by following these steps: 1. Open the location where your backup is saved.
The files in your backup are saved as zip files. Right-click the backup file (a file with the Windows Backup icon and the name of your computer), and then click Open.
To manually extract files that are larger than 200 MBs If a file is larger than 200 MBs, it will be split into multiple zip files. You will need to extract and then combine these files following these steps: 1. Open the location where your backup is saved. Find the zip files that contain the file you want to extract. For example, if you're trying to extract a video file named BirthdayParty, you would find the zip files that contain files with that name. Create a folder on your desktop to extract the files to.
Since the files all have the same name, you'll need to rename them as you extract them. Extract the first file into the folder you created on your desktop and then rename the file. Repeat this step until you have extracted all of the files, making sure that you name them similarly. For example, if you have four files for the BirthdayParty video, name them BirthdayParty1, BirthdayParty2, BirthdayParty3, and BirthdayParty4. Open the Command Prompt window by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Command Prompt, and then, in the list of results, click Command Prompt.
Type the following command: copy /b filename. Fileextension newfilename. Fileextension For example, copy /b BirthdayParty.avi BirthdayPartyAll.avi.

I have a full backup of my PS3 HDD with the act.dat/raps/rifs/savedata etc and i've been trying to figure out (for ages) how to license my previously downloaded PSN dlc and games. My accounts have been permanently banned so i cant access the psn anymore.

I saw this post about you mentioning you can create your own rap files but i need a little guidance. How can i find out the idps from the data i have to create these new licenses?
Any help would be hugely appreciated. Code: x:/exdataThen fire up PSN Patch and choose the install function or you can use ReActPSN and make a secondary account named simply aa and must be lower case. Now on the profile you want to activate the content log into it not the aa one and place the drive with the exdata folder in the USB port closest to the Blu-ray drive and simply run the app ReActPSN and it will install and activate your rap/rif/edats for that account. To ensure it worked go back to your profiles and the ones named aa should be renamed to reflect how many files we're activated. If you need to do it again simply change the name of the account back to aa and run the app again. I find PSN Patch easier as no sub secondary account it needed to activate them and it's one less app I have to have installed. Another main reason I use it is because I simply can use ReActPSN as my USB port closest to the BD drive is dead.
PSN Patch doesn't care which USB port it's plugged into on the PS3. If You inject act.dat to not match NP Account ID it will be deleted on next boot. There are patches for CFW to prevent this and maybe today all have it.
But I doubt this will work. Better idea is generation license by tools like ReActPSN. BTW: Your save's and trophies are signed to specific NP Account ID, so they will not work on another account until You resign them. Why You everywhere complain about this?
Deal with it, that this was a administration decision. You act like a prince from burned castle. Sorry, but this is life, and not always peoples will toss roses right to your legs.;P. Right, i have my IDPS which i used to download the PSN content (the official banned one that came with the console) by looking at 'system information' in Multiman. I have all the rifs/raps/edats from 3 different users.
So how can i make these work again on a new psid and idps? I have a backup of the ps3 hdd with all the stuff installed (which im guessing you can repackage?) and i also have a backup of the ps3 hdd before i installed them (bubbles in game column). Ive been trying to do this for over a year now but this site looks promising so im hoping you pros know what to do? I've just completely wiped my ps3. Thanks in advance.
